Kuching Waterfront Sunset

Yesterday , the sky was clear in the afternoon after few days of rain. I took the opportunity to try out my SAL35F18 and Tokina 11-16 with the LA-EA2 on a sunset project. There was some issue with the Tokina,  where sometimes the image got burn especially when I put in a slow shutter. But sometimes the picture came out ok. SO for the viewers, that's more important. I'll deal with the issue myself.

My favorite Art (So far) : Sephora - Starhill @ Bukit Bintang

This architecture fascinates me and I knew it could create some dramatic effect. With my new LA-EA2, I used the tokina 11-16 and took the picture. It was not so much before editing.

But after editing. I couldn't blink.

The KLCC to Pavilion pedestrian walk.

I was somewhere at Bukit Bintang and wanted to go to KLCC, so I decided to stroll along the new pedestrian bridge to KLCC. I do not know if it's just me but I find it a very long walk. The walk along the bridge was comfortable, however some portion was having problems with the ventilation and I felt a little uncomfortable. Well, at least there's no rain and exhaust smoke. Here are some shots of the colourful stretch right before KLCC entrance. These shots were taken using the Tokina super wide angle 11-16.

Rainforest World Music Festival 2012 - Sunday: The last day.

I was lucky to have been here on the last day and I was informed that the previous day was even better. Enjoy;

The Khusugtun from the land of Mongol in one of the afternoon workshop : If it was up to me, I'd called them THE ENERGIZER.
A mix of some of the performers. Interesting characters.

 The bamboo bridge.

In another workshop. Nice hat.

Was supposed to focus on those couple. I guess the music and energy from the people around distracted my concerntration. Anyway all those happy faces, makes me proud to be a Sarawakian.

 Another happy face.

 These kids have good sports.

Heineken and the forest seem to agree with colours. I didn't know Barcelona was invited!!

I'd come here anytime during a good sunset.

When the sun is down. Let the show begins.

Collaboration. This night picture and the below picture was taken using the new SEL50F18.

This guy is passionate.

How to create a blog background with your own picture?

Easy! Create a canvas (on an editing software off course) of 1800 pixel Witdh and 1600 Pixel Height. Then edit your picture on the canvas (copy, paste, move, transform, skew, add text..etc...) presto!

Oh yes. You have to save the picture to a gif or Jpeg format of less than 300kB. Below is the latest background I created.

I thought I saw a pussy cat !

I'm assuming somehow this cat was naughty, it was caged in this wooden cell struggling to come out. I smiled and quickly manually focus the SAL35F18 ( A cheap fast fixed focal Sony Alpha lens). Walla;

Selamat Ngiling Bidai Greetings

To all celebrating Gawai. Selamat Ngiling Bidai.

Diesel Engine Fumes = Asbestos = Cancer

I heard on the radio this morning that WHO has just announced that diesel engine exhaust fumes to have direct link to lung and bladder cancer. You can refer to Reuters on this, not good at all for all related to this business. Took the picture below with my Samsung Galaxy S II.

Such a blue sky, painted with dark smoke. Guess it is a sight for the bird on the lamp post.

Damai Puri Resort and Spa, Kuching, Sarawak Photos

I would like to promote the beauty of this place. Browse through all the pictures or scroll below (If you think my pictures are lousy) and I'll tell you why.

The front desk background.

The lobby decoration.

The lobby decoration of native vase.

Another native vase decoration at the lobby.

The same vase focusing on the long tongue man like creature.

An extraordinary sight of the Damai Sentral back by Gunung Santubong and lighted by the super bright moon ( having problem taking picture with the moon so bright)  which is just a few minutes walk from Damai Puri.

The morning view outside the balcony of the seaview room in front of the pool.

Middle courtyard of the hotel in front of KU Restaurant.

Hotel view from the beach (rock side)/ Mount Santubong shore.

The big tree trunk on the beach (I wonder if this is purposely set here..hmmn)

Oh Yes. Reason why......this laptop I use to post this blog was left behind in the hotel room (inside the safety box). They call me 6 Hrs after I check out and immediately I came over that night to collect it back. Bravo. That is what the service sector is all about. However, they do not deliver... opss. This is a good place to stay for the upcoming Rainforest Music Festival, however, I understand that all the nearby hotel are fully booked during this time of the year.
